Gorzitanian War Chapter 1
The streets that were generally bustling with activity seemed dead with the occasional disregarded leaf fluttering by, signaling the inevitable approach of winter. The only sound to be heard in the lifeless street was the creaking of the antique wooden signs that overhung the windows or doors of abandoned shops; however, soon enough, the clack of hooves began to echo throughout the narrow, stone-lined path. Faces appeared from the unilluminated windows to see just who was crazy enough to walk the streets in such a time of tension. After all, to most of the citizens of Sohell, it was dangerous to even leave the ‘comforts’ of one’s own bedroom. Those who were brave enough to approach the windows found something that surprised them greatly. Travelling upon a baroque style black stallion clad in the kingdom’s colors of red and silver was their king being accompanied by a female human and a male Gorzitan. The king’s presence was usually something that was celebrated but no one dared to make a noise for fear of breaking the silent, solemn mood.

“Your Highness, are you sure that we should be making such a public appearance in these times?” a feminine voice spoke up finally, the silence making her uneasy as her icy blue eyes travelled back and forth to each window. Just the looks of hate from those who were watching them sent a chill down her spine. In an attempt to distract herself, she looked down at the bag that she had tied to the saddle of her own horse and pretended to be searching for something.

“Lura, you know that the kingdom would fair even worse if we disappeared without a trace,” the king replied without averting his gaze from the path straight before him. The gates of the city were now within sight. Their quest was about to begin. He sat straight in the saddle, an air of calmness, fearlessness, and determination seeming to leak from his very position. Closing the distance to the large wooden gates that had been closed for a week’s time now felt as if it took an eternity. With the slightest nod from the king, the guards simply looked at one another before opening the way out for the king and his two companions. The gates opened quickly due to the immense power and strength the guards possessed. Of course, they belonged to the Gorzitan race. Once the path that led out of the city was completely in view, the king finally looked between Lura, his human companion, and Rhitset, his Gorzitanian companion. The two simply nodded without a word being said and King Raygra simply sent his horse forward at a calm canter. As soon as the hooves of the three horses began to pound into the dirt road that led to and from the kingdom, the only thing the king could hear were the doors closing behind them. “Be well,” his husky voice barely whispered, the words being carried away by the wind as the trio left the stone walls behind them.
Gorzitanian War Chapter 1
Sohell was a peaceful kingdom where both humans and gorzitans, an intelligent ape-like race, were able to live together in harmony thanks to the Eleweest Agreement, a document that was signed by the leaders of both races after the devastating Tinjurie War. Every year, there is a large festival where the history behind the document is celebrated, and it is the only day of the year that the townspeople are able to gaze upon the writing that brought peace to a once bloody relationship. It is time for the Eleweest Festival once again, but things don't go as planned when it is revealed that the document is missing. King Raygra of Sohell and his trusty friends Rhitset and Lura must solve the mystery before it is too late and war once again breaks out.
